In This Role, You Will...
Write and edit proposals, letters of inquiry/intent and other solicitation materials, including budgets and attachments for a variety of programs and projects throughout the university.
Serve as a point of contact for development activities with foundations and provide assistance to university staff and faculty.
Utilize your communication and research skills to identify prospects and programs with potential to support Iowa State priorities and lead faculty and staff through solicitation process.
Develop strategies to achieve goals. You will effectively translate creative ideas into action by writing proposals tied to the priority needs of the university.
Build relationships with faculty and staff for the purposes of identifying promising programs, research and priorities and assist in develop strategies for securing philanthropic support.
Collaborate with ISU Foundation staff members and assist with ISU Foundation special events and activities as needed.
Oversee a small portfolio of Foundation Relations prospects and donors.
Required Education and Experience:
To Be Successful, You Will Need...
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years professional experience. You must also have demonstrable skills in persuasive speaking and influencing others.
Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences. Your solid proposal writing and editing skills will be fully utilized in this role.
Project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives with independence, creativity and effectiveness.
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Experience with databases and spreadsheets is desired.
Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
Strong team orientation, a dedicated work ethic and a positive and professional attitude. You will also need a high-level customer-service focus.
Knowledge of university systems preferred.
