The Technical Solutions Engineer - Supply Chain leads the development of custom technical solutions to include system enhancements, master data management, data integration, and interfaces using a variety of platforms and technologies to provide business solutions to customers. The Technical Solutions Engineer for Supply Chain provides expertise regarding the integration of applications and systems for assigned projects and customers. The Technical Solutions Engineer will define system requirements and specifications, plan, design, and develop highly complex, business critical software and data, or system integration solutions. The Technical Solutions Engineer will perform conceptual data modeling, process flow mapping, requirements gathering and system architecture diagrams individually or as part of a team to assist in solving highly complex problems. The Technical Solutions Engineer will work primarily with the Supply Chain department, the Enterprise BI and Data Management department in IS, Digital Health Office, Project Management, and various third party developers and solution providers to architect, develop and deploy solutions related to Supply Chain optimization and expansion. This role will have a special emphasis on collaborating with our Digital Health Office to coordinate the development and adoption of new technologies including robotic process engineering (RPA) and artificial intelligence solutions. The Technical Solutions Engineer will partner with application and product vendors as needed, escalating resolution when appropriate, and will participate in product evaluations to provide input during contract negotiations. The Technical Solutions Engineer for Supply Chain will also have the following responsibilities and deliverables, including but not limited to:
- Leads analysis and design efforts in support of technology integration by partnering with business units, IT representatives and third parties to Engineer technical solutions (20%)
- Analyze and translate business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives (20%)
- Analyze technical requirements, identifying and evaluating alternatives for technology and integration across applications and systems (10%)
- Developed enterprise level solutions that synchronize data across applications, systems and platforms (10%)
- Improve and expand core supply chain data management platform, functionality, accessibility and service oriented architecture (SOA) (10%)
- Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems (10%)
- Participate in QA, UAT & production support related to various customer engagements (10%)
- Contribute towards creating implementation and integrations best practices policies and procedures and related support knowledge base (10%)
- Key deliverables expected within one to three years
- Deploy at least five robotic process automation solutions
- Oversee, engineer, and implement a master data management solution
- Work with existing software solution providers to develop next generation custom enhancements
- Engineer integration and data synchronization between ivalua cloud-based procurement system to various third party systems including our Epic Electronic Health Record
- Support our Data Integrity Department with SQL and semantic layer architecture to support BI rollouts
The ideal Technical Solutions Engineer - Supply Chain will hold a Bachelor's Degree combined with a minimum of 5 years of applicable, relevant experience and an understanding of Healthcare, Supply Chain, or both. The ideal Technical Solutions Engineer will possess exceptional customer facing and presentation skills with demonstrated abilities to effectively consult and influence others to adopt ideas and/or methodologies. The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly learn new software and applications and will be a relentless and versatile learner who is open to change and experimentation. The ideal Technical Solutions Engineer for Supply Chain will also have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities, including but not limited to:
- Experience working Business Objects universes, Cognos Framework Manager, or other types of OLAP modeling environments
- Experience working with Relational Database Management Systems like Oracle, MS SQL Server, Netezza
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology, Agile Development and/or Waterfall Development processes
- Working ability with structured query language (SQL)
- Cognos, Business Objects or other data visualization certification desired but not required
- Lean six sigma certification desired but not required

- Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
