The Center got Academic Excellence and Support in the School of Professional Studies is seeking in individual to report to the Director of Educational Technology, the Media Design Instructional Technologist serves as a support resource for SPS faculty and staff in the design and development of engaging interactive educational media assets. Design, develop and deliver workshops and training for faculty and staff on the production of virtual course content. Provide media production services for internal projects and specialized academic initiatives. Create high quality, engaging, effective online products and media assets at scale while meeting deadlines. Produce and import course content into the LMS; including writing and formatting copy, editing, proofing, and production. Provide creative, aesthetic, and operational support in the production of professional audio and video recordings; including production planning, equipment and studio set preparation and maintenance. Apply expertise in the production of graphic design elements for multimedia content for virtual delivery; including video, audio, infographics, still images, interactive PDF's, motion graphics and animations. Publish content for faculty development and related training manuals.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a related area.
Preferred Education: Master's degree in Educational Technology, instructional design or a related field.
Required Experience: 3 years' experience developing and delivering courses/workshops within a hands-on media related field. Hands on experience with video technologies from pre-production to post. Demonstrated project management background. Experience in presenting, discussing and applying educational theory into practice; working with adult learners and University faculty.
Preferred Experience: University level teaching and professionall experience in educational technology. Experience in cultivating digital communities.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Aesthetic sense and ability to apply principles of graphic design to create appropriate and visually appealing communications for higher education and executive level education. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail. Hands on knowledge of learning management systems; uploading media assets, delivering content in a variety of online formats. Proficiency with software such as in the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, Articulate, editing packages such as Adobe Premiere; video and audio production set up and equipment maintenance. University-level teaching and professional experience. Experience with graphic design and/or art education. Strong written communication skills (including proofreading) and attention to visual and written details essential.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Copy, editing, and proofreading experience in publishing or other related field. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and software. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to identify and meet user needs; ability to set priorities and manage time; training experience. Understands usability and user experience. Active knowledge of cutting-edge trends for layouts, print, web, and animation. Knowledge of new technologies, mobile developments, and design standards.
