University of Michigan Health and Well-Being Services (MHealthy) is seeking candidates for the position of Research Area Specialist Intermediate. The successful candidate will serve MHealthy in providing analytic and administrative support for its comprehensive evaluation plan. Reporting to the Research Program Manager, the individual will conduct analyses (using SAS and NVivo) on health behavior intervention programs and perform data manipulation using Excel and other analytic tools currently in use at MHealthy. The individual will also provide analytic support to special health intervention projects that MHealthy is asked to conduct.
Create drafts of graphs, charts and slides based on program outcomes for use in executive level presentations as well as for wider audiences.
Conduct quantitative data analyses (using SAS) on health behavior intervention programs and merge and manipulate data using SAS and Excel.
Perform qualitative data analyses for health behavior intervention programs and MHealthy university wide surveys, using NVivo software. Provide drafts of summary reports for use in executive level presentations and wider audiences.
Assist in drafting reports including conducting literature searches, and drafting surveys for review by the Research Program Manager.
Manage electronic surveys using the survey software, Qualtrics, including creating surveys, exporting data, analyzing results and drafting data reports.
Provide training and assistance, on an ad hoc basis, to colleagues on the use of the Qualtrics survey software.
Enter/import MHealthy program data into the internal MHealthy Data Repository and test the repository’s accuracy and efficiency to ensure data quality.
Provide training to MHealthy colleagues on the data entry and importing processes for the internal MHealthy Data Repository. Facilitate trainings including the updating of codebooks and training documents.
Represent the Research Program Manager in meetings as requested, providing summary reports and following up on necessary actions and provide staff support to executive groups, including creation of agenda, assistance in preparing and reviewing materials, developing action plans, etc.
Co-author peer-reviewed publications.
Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years experience or a Master’s Degree in a social science, research and/or health related field
Experience handling multiple projects
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent project management skills
Basic knowledge of SAS
Basic knowledge of NVivo
