The Manager of Global Programs is responsible for cultivating SWE’s critical markets outside of the US and implementing SWE's global business plan. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience working for professional or trade associations outside the US, planning and executing global meetings, and building collaborations and partnerships supporting international activities, along with a track record of increasing revenue through international business growth.
Work with SWE leadership to develop and expand international strategic business and marketing plans (digital)
Identify and proactively promotes new business and partnership opportunities
Direct global meetings and manage any related new product, program or training launches
Represent SWE at global meetings and partnership discussions as appropriate
Develop strategies for servicing and supporting international members and analyzes revenue opportunities created by expanding SWE's global membership base
Analyze global membership needs and strategic areas of opportunity. Work with Engagement staff to develop and implement tactics
Works closely with engagement and marketing to develop and disseminate effective messaging for different key global markets
Manage consultants focused on events
Maintain extensive knowledge of market history, current conditions and trends within target markets
Negotiate contracts with hotels, conference centers and vendors on behalf of SWE.
Understand, monitor and communicate international threats and opportunities
In coordination with the Engagement team drive member, volunteer and community engagement through SWE’s Ambassador and Affiliate programs.
Ensure budget and staffing needs are in alignment with SWE’s global business plan, special projects and programs.
Manage global programs/conferences and development staff and consultants
Serve as SWE's internal advocate for non-US markets by collaborating with other departments to ensure that needs of global members are being served effectively
Collaborate with various team to develop content germane to different markets
Work with Headquarters on SWE's annual conference and US WE Local events as needed.
Handle special projects as directed by the CEO and CLO.
Bachelor's Degree required
5 or more years of experience in international business, international relations, association management and non-profit environment.
Experience in meeting/trade show planning, managing educational programs and management/administrative support to leadership groups, preferably for associations.
Familiarity with association structures and processes.
Strong project/program management skills including the ability to manage concurrent projects/programs from planning to execution.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, foreign language proficiency preferred.
Innovative and collaborative attitude.
Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with AMS databases
Excellent diplomacy and cross-cultural communication skills
International travel (30%) to various conferences required.
