We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join Santander UK as a Senior Manager within the Crisis and Resiliency team.
This department aims to protect Santander UK capital by defining, directing and embedding effective operational risk management practices across all levels of the organisation and its third parties. It aims to monitor and report the firm wide operational risk profile and ensure action is taken to maintain the profile within the Board's operational risk tolerance.
In this role you will act as the technical lead on large-scale crisis management and resilience & continuity projects impacting across the business, managing key internal and external relationships. You will provide advice, develop new solutions, and manage and motivate team members or a significant number of individual stakeholders in line with overall business requirements and risk policies.

As a Senior Manager, Operational Resilience your main responsibilities will be
Management of Operational Risk - You will implement operational resilience frameworks by providing support to both 1st and 2nd lines of defence in developing KRIs to communicate and monitor operational resiliency risk statements and limits.
You will ensure exposures are managed within appetite and ensure actions are taken where appropriate. You will also support and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines and deliver business continuity, crisis management and resilience training based on established standards.
Incident Management - Own and manage the operation of resilience and crisis incident reporting processes, procedures and databases.
Regulatory and Legal Compliance - Implement and maintain processes to maintain assurance of compliance.
Relationship Management - Actively manage relationships with internal partners including senior, executive, board level managers and also external bodies. Participate in industry networks and forums to maintain Santander's positive image.
Minimum skills and experience required
Excellent understanding of Resiliency and Crisis Management principles, methods and practices and experience of delivering similar accountabilities for major UK bank.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to absorb and distil complex information into summary updates for senior management during crisis.
Understanding of the legislation and regulatory environment relating to Resiliency, Business Continuity and Crisis Management requirements.
Understanding of industry benchmarks in respect of Resiliency, Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
Strong influencing skills to manage a diverse set of stakeholders.
Experience of managing and providing leadership to multiple geographically dispersed specialist teams.
Demonstrable experience of people management as the role holder will be required to manage one or more direct reports.

This role is based in our offices in London Triton Square.
