Macalester College seeks to hire a full-time Event Audio Visual Technician to work in the Information Technology Services department. This position provides audio and visual support for all events hosted at Macalester College as well as some off-campus conference events. Events support may require evening and weekend hours.
Plans, consults and executes audio/visual coordination for all campus events.
Acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance to internal and external clients on event space. When necessary, consults with external vendor and contract partners to achieve desired outcome.
Provides program setup for both public and campus events. This includes providing logistical support for small to large-scale audiovisual systems and ensuring all equipment (cameras, PA speakers, microphones, mixers, projectors, laptops, switchers, scalers, digital recording devices etc.) are set up and functioning properly.
Manages the hiring process for event A/V student workers with a commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity.
Provides management oversight to the event A/V student workers. Coaches and mentors student workers while providing an inclusive learning environment.
Fosters and facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
3-5 years of experience operating audio and visual equipment for event purposes.
Has demonstrated knowledge of working strategically with diverse colleagues, es, students and community members.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
High school diploma required.
