The person in this position is responsible for organizing an extensive set of web-based instructional materials and working with faculty and staff across campus to improve existing resources and develop new ones. Specifically, this person also ensures that UWP/UWC website pages and platforms (Springshare, iWebfolio, WordPress, etc.) are developed, updated, and/or corrected regularly to ensure quality information is provided to the public. This person develops accurate and effective digital and print-based materials related to UWP/UWC workshops and events in a timely fashion; promotes UWP/UWC workshops, events, and personnel through campus list-servs, social media, and the UWP/UWC website platforms; manages the University Writing Portfolio; communicates marketing strategies and goals with the team regularly at staff meetings; develops and implements effective strategies for managing and archiving digital images, videos, and other documents related to UWP/UWC events and activities; communicates through the UWP/UWC annual report how digital and web-based initiatives have worked over the previous year; and participates in assessment projects related to the UWP/UWC.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The University Writing Program supports students, faculty, and staff at ECU through two integrated initiatives: the University Writing Center and the Writing Across the Curriculum program. The University Writing Center (UWC) offers peer consulting services to the students, faculty, and staff at ECU through 45-minute face-to-face and online appointments with trained undergraduate and graduate writing consultants. The UWC provides nearly 10,000 individual consulting sessions each academic year. The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program engages all undergraduate students in 12 credit hours of writing intensive (WI) coursework before graduation, and is responsible for assessing and supporting over 400 writing intensive courses each semester. In order to help faculty and graduate students who teach these WI courses, the WAC program provides a variety of ongoing professional development opportunities, workshops, seminars, and writing retreats.
