Information Systems Specialist - Facilities & Services 10307
The Planning & Scheduling department of Facilities and Services at West Virginia University is accepting applications for an Information Systems Specialist position. This position is responsible for the technical system administration and functional upkeep of the Series 25 suite of programs, academic scheduling at WVU with assistance to the regional campuses, and additional classroom management functions.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Oversee the technical system administration maintenance of Series 25 systems, including 25Live. This includes work in the system in areas such as administrative tools, security configuration, web publishing, recruitment, and technical training and support.
Coordinate with various departments, colleges and schools to accurately and appropriately schedule general purpose classrooms, additional rooms and event requests using Series 25 systems and Banner.
Adhere to current policies and processes and work to develop new policies or processes when necessary.
Perform technical testing and documentation of any upgrades and/or patches involved with various software packages, including all Series 25 products, Microsoft Office products, Share Point, CS Gold and Banner.
Provide backup assistance to the Space Manager and the Scheduling Assistant when necessary.
Run utilization reports and weekly locks reports.
Perform other duties and tasks as required and directed by the Assistant Director of Facilities Planning and Scheduling.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:45pm
Pay Grade: 17, WVU provides competitive wages for its employees, and takes experience and related education into consideration when determining appropriate salary.
Bachelor's degree required; degree in computer science, engineering, math, statistics, economics or another analytical discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience is not acceptable
Minimum of two (2) years experience in the following:
Technical experience in a computer-related customer support field
Experience in public speaking, training or giving presentations
Experience utilizing concepts of optimization in quantitative discipline environment to achieve quantitative goals
Experience in project management
Valid driver's license
Every semester this position will tour classrooms as part of a team to verify capacity counts and attributes. May have to move classroom furniture to match appropriate room layouts and/or reach correct capacity
