We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Strategy, Planning, & Business Development (SP&BD) team.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of multiple projects within the scope, quality, time and resource constraints specified by the internal stakeholders at NYU Langone. You will be expected to periodically present to executive leadership, foster executive relationships, and develop key business/operational skills to drive project and institutional success. Essential to your success, will be your ability to manage project dependencies and stakeholder relationships as it relates to the projects you work on, as well as ensure timely and effective communication with the project team and stakeholders. You will also be responsible to guarantee projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with other business and related projects as applicable. You will work under general direction of a Senior Manager and will serve in a supporting capacity on larger projects as well as being relied upon to drive smaller scale projects forward on your own with little supervision.

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in comparing and evaluating options and approaches to analyses or project management, including possible courses of conduct, and acting or making a decision after the various possibilities have been considered
Brings issues to resolution and escalates issues or concerns to the Project Sponsor and key constituents
Provides input to SPBD Senior Managers and Directors as well as other Project Managers during project and recognizes technical, business and operational impacts of a project.
Makings good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment
Consistently operates with a clear understanding of when to act independently and when best to reach out to include input from others with broader, more diverse experience
Completes status reports and presenting deliverables for project milestones to executive leadership under the supervision of SPBD Senior Managers and/or Directors
Suggests options and approaches to analyses or project management, including possible courses of conduct, and acting or collectively making a decision after the various possibilities have been considered. Effectively communicates rationale for the decision that was made
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations service standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Ensures adherence to all current project methodology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements
Carries out assignments in conducting the operations of his or her project including being involved in relevant planning of long- or short-term business objectives. Develops applicable process and outcome metrics to measure project success
Reviews business requirements and may assist in translating requirements. May provide analytical support to other team members and internal client groups in defining requirements
Synthesizes complex information to communicate project deliverables and recommendations to stakeholders.
Independently suggests alternatives to work groups and effectively serves as a thought partner with stakeholders by asking probing questions to derive the best possible outcomes
Possesses strong analytical skills
Manages projects, including development and maintenance of project plans, leading and facilitating work groups, moderate analysis and understanding the issues surrounding a project
To qualify you must have a 5+ years of relevant progressive experience in project management working in a Strategy, Business Development, and/or consulting capacity. A Masters Degree in Health Administration, Masters Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
Complete understanding of a project life cycle methodology, strong judgment, and excellent project management skills
The ability to proficiently use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Effective problem solving skills to assist in detecting potential issues and issue resolution.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience.
Demonstrates an ability to exercise discretion, good independent judgment, and independent thinking in selecting the optimal course of action.
Preferred candidates will be action-oriented, with experience managing aggressive deadlines and strength across a broad range of technical skills.
Qualified candidates must be proficient in Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Preferred candidates will also be proficient in Access and Visio, as well as Decision Support reporting programs.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
