A Leading Fund of Fund in Manhattan is looking for a Full-Time, Permanent, Quantitative Treasury, Margin & Special Projects Associate, who is an excellent process manager and natural multi-tasker who can effectively work on a variety of tasks ranging from daily routine processes to long-term projects. The successful candidate is proactive, has an eye for what really matters, and has the ability to get things done quickly thanks to her/his agile problem- solving skills, perseverance, and effective communication skills.

The work will consist of:
Margin monitoring & planning
Hard-to-borrow short optimization
Tracking compliance with counterparty limits
Inputs to the counterparty risk model
Counterparty wallet / profitability monitoring
This position is based in New York within the Firm's Separately-Managed Account ("SMA") & Direct Trading Platform Management team. The team works to ensure that the platform has the best possible operational and counterparty setup to meet the Firm's investment needs. This includes leading the onboarding and counterparty setup for new managed accounts, optimizing counterparty commercial terms, managing platform balance sheet & margin, and monitoring counterparty risk. The new hire will report to the Head of SMA & Direct Trading Platform Management and work closely with other members of the team. The individual will also interact with the Firm's other functional teams (Finance, Risk, Investments) as well as the Firm's external bank counterparties and SMA sub-advisors.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Executing a variety of operational processes designed to optimize important elements of the SMA platform (examples include managing borrow costs for short positions, monitoring margin usage, calculating the Firm's wallet paid to counterparties, and tracking compliance with counterparty-imposed limits)
Creatively enhance processes to improve effectiveness (e.g., build better reporting) and efficiency (e.g., automate tasks)
Support the team with targeted analysis related to onboarding new SMA managers, improving the set-up of existing managers, or optimizing our counterparty relationships / set-up
Over time, grow into a distinctive problem solver and project manager who can drive critical activities such as onboarding new SMA managers and negotiating with counterparties
Undergraduate degree with a distinctive GPA (3.6 or higher); preferably in a quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, economics, mathematics)
2+ years of professional experience with an investment firm or other financial services provider
Experience with financial operations, including managing and owning a routine process
Successful contributor to project-oriented work
