The History Department at the University of St. Thomas (MN) invites applications for a full-time, limited-term (up to 5 years) position in 20th Century United States History. Specialization(s) preferred in US immigration, social movements, public history and/or digital humanities. Position begins Fall 2019. We are looking for a scholar-educator who is committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and who can demonstrate scholarly productivity and promise in ongoing research in their field.
The teaching load of three courses per semester involves some combination of the following: the general requirement course, Modern U.S. in Global Perspective, and upper-level courses in modern U.S. history for undergraduate history majors and minors.
A qualified candidate will possess a Ph.D. (U.S. or foreign equivalent degree) in History or a closely related field required; alternatively, ABD candidates will be considered. All applicants must have demonstrable skills necessary for excellence in teaching.
