KickStart Venture Services (KVS) is a venture development program at UNC, focused on spinning out startup companies based on University technologies. As part of the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC), the program works to translate important research innovations into products and services which will have a societal impact.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the mission of KVS by providing leadership and management expertise for the deployment and management of our venture creation activities. This position, reporting to the Director, will involve developing, launching, and supporting startup companies spinning out of UNC-CH. Position will work closely with faculty and OTC’s commercialization managers throughout the technology commercialization process.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required. This can include university or non-profit translational experience (e.g. technology transfer) or IP-based startup experience. Project management experience a plus. Possess excellent organizational and verbal interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
