The position of Webmaster is responsible for the support and maintenance of the University web site including layout, design, and content. The position is also heavily involved in marketing the institution through advertising campaigns, social media, video, and graphic design.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary contact for the University website and be responsible for its layout, design, and content;
Ensure that the CMU website delivers a message consistent with institutional marketing efforts;
Research and identify technology trends in the field and recommend improvements;
Perform necessary maintenance to ensure web links are working properly, meta data is accurate, and pages are proper length for optimal SEO
Collaborate with Information Technology staff in order to provide high quality and reliable website and server performance
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and legal standards
Assist in the planning and implementation of all CMU marketing efforts;
Assist with design and creation of CMU print and digital pieces;
Be a lead member of the social media team tasked with maintaining and enhancing CMU’s online presence on various social media platforms which includes updating, responding, and creating engaging content;
Perform other duties as assigned in this area of responsibility.
In coordination with the Executive Director of Marketing Communications, this position provides direction, support, and day-to-day oversight of the Media and Content Coordinator.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3 years’ experience
Must be able to and without assistance: Walk forward, backward and side to side, crawl, jump, sit, kneel, climb and descend stairs, open and close doors, have full motor skills in both arms, hands and all fingers and thumbs.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The ideal candidate should have:
Extensive experience with a Content Management System as well as HTML and CSS;
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop;
Knowledge of and a high comfort level with different social media platforms;
The ability to think strategically and make good decisions;
The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment;
The ability to work without direct supervision and as part of a team.
Photography, videography, and video editing experience is a plus.
