The Project Architect has the responsibility to plan, design, manage, and review construction, development, or manipulation of the physical environment for practical, aesthetic, and/or creative objectives.
Architectural Design (90%)
Use architectural software to draft, design, detail, and modify project designs/plans/renderings utilizing the firm’s best practices and standards.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard architectural techniques and procedures.
Review designs for compliance with codes and specifications.
Clarify and resolve technical issues.
May provide technical assistance with proposals and presentations.
May write reports and memorandums, and assist with project presentations to clients.
May assist Project Managers, as requested, in the preparation of cost information.
May review construction drawings, specifications and bidding documentation for code compliance and use specifications.
Other related duties as assigned.
Participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and other planning sessions.
Participate in training and development activities as needed and directed by supervisor.
Perform personal administrative tasks including, but not limited to, time sheet completion, expense report completion, correspondence, etc.
Knowledge and understanding of building design and systems, and general construction processes from programming through close out.
Project Design and Analysis
Ability to analyze programmatic requirements and budget restraints to produce designs that address project criteria effectively.
Ability to plan and modify approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
Ability to communicate, in written, graphic and oral form, detailed and technical architectural information, guidelines and standards/statutes/codes/regulations to various audiences to ensure that they understand the information and the message, and to seek compliance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, required
Master’s Degree in Architecture, preferred
Licensed Architect, preferred
