Where the Chemistry Happens
From discovery through commercialization, BASF enzyme science is a data driven mission that needs 21 st century data capture, data architectures, workflows and interfaces to make large amounts of information rapidly accessible and usable. Speeding up innovation will also require insights into migrating data from legacy systems to structures that are optimal for machine learning.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your academic background in natural sciences combined with a pronounced IT affinity or experience in IT with a strong interest in natural sciences, you will contribute to a research direction that provides innovation and breakthrough advantages for the business by delivering tailored data solutions.
Supported by our data architects, you will cultivate a degree of ownership of the digital workflow and data in addition to working with IT architectures that are optimally suited for capturing, storing, integrating, and provisioning primary lab data generated in our R&D organization.
Through your knowledge of programming and application of intelligent data solutions, you will enable researchers to access huge amounts of data swiftly and organize the data so that it means something to the user.
Your strong communication skills and robust analytical skills will be valued assets as you engage directly with researchers, analyze existing and new lab processes and develop a common understanding of the best data management solutions that are robust as well as adaptable to changing processes.
As a subject matter expert, you will provide knowledge and expertise in workflow and data management and data connectivity including complex queries, stored procedures and views, database management (security, backups, and restores) and SQL server components (e.g. Services, Agents, Add ons).
Using your skills in collaboration and passion for efficiency, you will closely cooperate with R&D, Engineering, IP and business units to allow for faster and more data driven decisions that will help increase efficiency of our R&D efforts.
Demonstrating your understanding of biological concepts and molecular biology combined with your familiarity with different data base architectures (both relational and NoSQL), you will execute data solutions to accomplish project objectives.
