Harvard Law School's Office of Career Services seeks an Assistant Director for Career Services. This position interacts extensively with highly talented students and alumni, works collaboratively with a dynamic and creative Career Services staff and is involved in the day-to-day operations of a vital and fast-paced service oriented office. The Assistant Director reports to the Assistant Dean for Career Services. Responsibilities include the following:
Advises and counsels JD students on all aspects of their career and professional development
Manages and coordinates all OCS career programming and professional development programming for JD students including live programming, podcasts, webcasts and related online content
Assists with office outreach and marketing of the law school to potential employers and has oversight for the office employer data base
Supervises management of resource library and evaluate new technologies for the office
Assists with collection of student and graduate employment data and preparation of statistical employment information for internal reports as well as external reports to organizations including, but not limited to, NALP, ABA and US News
Hires and supervises OCS peer advisors and serves as a liaison to student groups
Serves as primary point person for all office special projects and new initiatives
Candidates with at least seven or more years of relevant professional experience working as a counselor or administrator in a legal, academic or business setting may be considered for a grade 58.

JD and minimum three years of private sector law practice experience or relevant administrative and supervisory experience in academia, law firm or industry setting.
Prior experience working in a career services office advising students is strongly preferred.
Record of leadership and managerial accomplishments along with a demonstrated capacity for effective collaboration and communication with students, faculty, employers, and administrators.
Superior presentation, written communication and organizational skills.
Experienced in team building, project management, and information technology.
Knowledge of the national, private sector employment markets.
