The Assistant Administrator for Operations will provide administrative coordination, and management support, facilitation, and review in the clinical, business, and financial activities for operations across Cook County Health & Hospitals System (CCHHS). Works with Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations, and senior operations leaders to develop and implement policies and procedures, short-range and long-range goals, objectives and other activities identified as strategic initiatives. Provides assistance to senior operations leaders that will support and create ownership of goals, and encourage active participation in decisions that impact operations and related activities across CCHHS entities. Maintains positive relations with clinical and support departments' leadership as well as with the community leaders, including participation in events representing the CCHHS facilities. Assists with ensuring all operational aspects of the system are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. Serves as liaison with other departments throughout CCHHS
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCHHS Personnel Rules.
· Participates in the planning, organization, controlling, and review of operations across CCHHS.
· Monitors operational metrics/scorecard and develop resolution plans by working closely with senior operations leaders.
· Monitors and evaluates entity budgets and expenditures and revenues. Explores and evaluates revenue enhancements and productivity projection methods in cooperation with senior operations leaders.
· Assists Deputy CEO, Operations and operations team in a variety of areas such as development of operational plans, achievement of strategic goals and priorities, achievement of affirmative action goals, long range financial and capital improvement plans, organizational development, and managerial effectiveness by providing directly or through subordinates, policy direction, technical assistance, organizational support, managerial expertise, advice and counsel.
· Provides business proposals and process improvement plans to the senior operational leaders on a variety of policy and procedural matters related to the effective administration of day to day operations throughout CCHHS.
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university is required . (Must provide official college/university transcript at time of interview)
Seven (7) years of experience working directly for an executive or corporate officer is required .
Three (3) years of experience in preparing and consolidating budgets for multiple departments is required.
Prior experience in an administrative capacity within a Healthcare or Hospital setting is required.
Prior experience with personnel administration, i.e. maintaining department FMLA and leave records, maintaining compliance training schedules, tracking performance review schedules, maintaining and updating job description library, policy manuals, etc is required.
Prior experience collecting data and preparing reports with financial or statistical information is required.
Prior experience in project management with responsibility for tracking timetables and project status is required.
Prior experience dealing with employees at all levels of the organization is requi red.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word. Excel, and PowerPoint is required. (A test to validate advance proficiency may be administered.)
Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Prior experience in a supervisor capacity is preferred.
