Under the supervision of the HR Manager and working closely with the Associate Dean for Administration & Finance and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Diversity, and Inclusion, the HR Associate is responsible for the administration and processing of all grant funded personnel, part-time faculty, visitors, and courtesy appointments. The HR Associate will ensure that all human resources operational activities for those populations are completed accurately and in a timely manner and administers the recruitment process for all non-tenure-track full-time faculty, part-time faculty and staff within the College. He/she will provide assistance to departments regarding job creation, posting requisitions, and hiring practices. The HR Associate will partner with the University Human Resources Management team on a variety of HR related topics, which may include performance management, annual salary planning process, time tracking, and triage of incoming inquiries and directing employees/candidates to the correct office for resolution. Act as a contact for immigration/visa needs throughout College for non-tenure-track faculty and staff and visitors, coordinates employee needs through the Office of General Counsel, the Office of Global Services, and the academic unit. Serve as time-tracking administrator for the Dean's Office and college. Cross train with HR Manager in all functions including tenure-track hiring and processes, tenure and promotion, sabbaticals and other leaves.
A Bachelor's degree is required. At least two to four years of experience doing administrative work in a professional environment, experience working within the human resource function or in a university setting preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in exacting professionalism and discretion on human resources matters and effective problem solving. The qualified candidate will present with excellent project management skills. Superior written and oral communication skills are required. Experience working in a human resources capacity within higher education is preferred.
