The WMS Business Analyst will play a key role in documenting the scope of data to be migrated, conducting field-level data mapping, supporting the design of a systematic and repeatable method for converting the data, as well as the the activities required to extract, transform, load, and validate the data. The WMS Business Analyst will be a critical resource on the team for ensuring the complete , timely and accurate migration of NWH and UWP integration data into UW Medicine.POSITION COMPLEXITIES:The WMS Business Analyst will support data migration, documentation and analysis for the NWH/UWP HR & Labor project. In addition, this position requires the ability to work as part of a larger project team that consists of resources from various organizations and departments at UW, NWH and UWP. Additional responsibilities include supporting the WMS team by assisting in the maintenance of the team's work plan, coordinating with team members to ensure project tasks are completed on time, documenting inputs provided by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), scheduling meetings & capturing follow-ups, as well as contributing to team deliverables (Data Load Schedule, Data Validation Plan, Test Plan, Process Documentation, Training Materials, etc).POSITION DIMENSIONS AND IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY:The WMS Business Analyst will work closely with NWH, UWP and existing UW and UW Medicine HR and Payroll teams, other key stakeholders, and project team members throughout the project. The position will report directly to the Director of WMS.RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate and facilitate meetings between the various organizational stakeholders to determine data migration requirements, including definition of scope and data sources.Identify gaps in the data available and be part of recommending next steps & actions to close gaps; track issues to resolution.Conduct field-by-field analysis of NWH and UWP data to be converted into UW systems by collecting & organizing inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); track follow up tasks and actions through to resolution.Produce a pair of complete data dictionary deliverables (NWH & UWP), mapping the NWH and UWP data to the UW required data fields in Workday. Keep data dictionary in synch with data templates that are updated at least twice annually. Ensure that refinements in UW production data definitions are synched up with the data dictionaries.Ensure requisite business owners and subject matter experts at NWH, UWP, and UW have the opportunity to provide input to the field-by-field data mapping and analysis, leveraging their subject matter expertise to review and approve the analysis, making the best use of their time.Partner with technical resources to support the design of a systematic and repeatable method for extracting and transforming NWH and UWP data into the readily loadable format needed for use by UW systems. This will include supporting multiple test loads and unit & end to end level validations.
