Qualifications: Required BA/BS in a liberal arts field. Two years of instructional design experience with a related BA/BS degree. Or four years of instructional design experience with a non-related BA/BS degree. No additional experience required with a related Master's Degree. Experience with a variety of instructional technologies and learning management systems. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. A helpful, team-based service attitude and a creative, innovative orientation. Preferred Master's degree in instructional technology, educational technology, instructional design, technical communications, or in a liberal arts field. Five years experience in instructional design including project management Background or a strong interest in liberal arts and liberal arts/digital humanities technologies. Classroom teaching and/or curriculum design experience. Graphic design experience. Background in or familiarity with user experience design or usability. Adept at troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose issues with academic technology tools. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and get projects up and running quickly. Demonstrated experience working in diverse work environments; demonstrated experience working effectively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Duties/Responsibilities Instructional Design ? 80% Create accessible, instructionally sound courses, instructional materials, and learning environments based on individual instructor requests Provide support to instructors as they learn how to teach and maintain courses Collaborate with TEL team and partners to assess or clarify needs of course design projects Serve as project lead for teaching and learning initiatives, including creating project timelines and monitor completion of milestones & deliverables, and communicating with stakeholders Assist in the development and use of evaluation processes to create quality assurance and track outcomes Work closely with other members of the TEL team to provide instructional design expertise to other projects, as needed
Writing and Communication ? 10% Create content for use in TEL communications, including emails, newsletters, blog postings, and web updates. Coordinate with CLA staff on the timing, distribution and follow up for these materials.
Campus Service ? 5% Serve on committees internal and external to the College focused on academic technology Cultivate partnerships with academic technology initiatives and resources within and outside the College
Personal Professional Development ? 5% Develop and maintain expertise within designated areas of responsibility, including educational research and trends that apply to academic technology, teaching and learning
