Colleges of the Fenway (COF) is a collaborative effort of five neighboring Boston-based colleges in the Longwood Medical and Academic area. This collaboration was created to add value to student academic and social life while seeking innovative methods of investing in new services and containing the costs of higher education.COF is looking for a part-time Director of Academic Programs and Professional Development to work closely with other COF leaders providing strategic leadership and support to the COF collaboration among the five member institutions with particular focus on joint academic and human resources initiatives, including cross registration and training and development. This is a key leadership position within the central COF office. Notable Responsibilities?Facilitate key committees and their initiatives, including Registrars, Teaching and Learning, Academic Advisors, Center for Sustainability and the Environment, and Human Resources. ?Assist the Executive Director in facilitating senior leadership committees, including Chief Academic Officers Provide leadership to and management of specific initiatives in related areas. ?Work with Chief Academic Officers, Registrars, and specific task forces to facilitate cross registration. ?Work with the Human Resources professionals in the development and management of shared professional development training programs, including Leadership Management Program and monthly training and development workshops, and joint vendor contracts.?Partner with the Director of the COF Center for Sustainability and the Environment and engaged faculty to support the work of the Center and the programs the Center offers.?Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Required Qualifications ?Master?s degree in education, business management, planning or a related field. ?Seven to 10 years of experience working with or in college or university administration with a focus on project management and communications.?Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher. ?Ability to build consensus and work with diverse campus constituencies.?Strong meeting facilitation, project management, organizational, negotiation and interpersonal skills.?Excellent diplomatic, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.?Ability to take initiative, work independently and with groups, and manage several projects simultaneously.?Ability to foster trust and build interpersonal relationships, be energetic and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and nuance.?Willingness to work unusual hours as needed.Compensation and BenefitsCompensation is based on experience and part-time schedule. This part-time position offers prorated vacation and sick as well as 403(b) retirement plan participation.
