Posting Summary: The University of Virginia is seeking a Senior Analyst for Academic Compliance to support the Associate and Director of Institutional Assessment and Studies. The Senior Analyst for Academic Compliance (Senior Analyst) provides essential analytical, procedural, and coordination services in support of institutional compliance activities. The Senior Analyst researches and analyzes state policies and procedures regarding academic program requirements and ensures those are applied institutionally as required; helps organize, implement, and monitor institutional policies and processes consistent with compliance requirements; reviews institutional reports and related documents for accuracy and quality; and coordinates and communicates with institutional partners as needed. Incumbent will work collaboratively with schools to meet institutional, State Council for Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV), and federal academic compliance requirements; works closely with school contacts to ensure materials required by external entities are cohesive, complete, and address procedural requirements; helps facilitate the effective analysis and processing of information, and provides quality assurance of materials before final submission. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports and other materials as requested by the Associate Provost directly or indirectly related to Academic Compliance (e.g., distance education, data quality practices). The Senior Analyst reports to the Associate Provost and Director of Institutional Assessment and Studies.
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience working on compliance issues related to higher education, state authorization and/or accreditation is required. Master's degree in higher education, public policy or related fields preferred. Must have the ability to evaluate and apply complex policies and provide nuanced technical advice and information. Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task work are essential. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, particularly technical writing skills for regulatory and compliance filings. Proven ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to a general audience, in multiple forums is required. Must have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with individuals from different departments and from diverse backgrounds. Experience with document management software and/or desktop publishing software preferred. Project management experience preferred.
