Towson University is accepting applications for an Event Operations Supervisor in the University Store. This position will coordinate and supervise operations for all external University Store events. Assists with University Store merchandising duties and operations, as necessary, to include store opening and closing responsibilities. Provides seasonal support for accounting staff clerical duties.
The Event Operations Supervisor coordinates and supervises operations for all University Store external events, including sporting event sales at Unitas Stadium & SECU Arena, campus author events, NorthEast campus events, store sidewalk sales and other events as necessary. Securely transfers store product and cash working fund to and from events according to University Store procedures. Schedules student staff to assist at events, as necessary. Supervises student staff on-site for events. Sets up and operates mobile Point of Sale (POS) devices at each event. Assists with University Store operations, including operation of POS cash register, customer service counter and textbook valet service duties, sales floor customer assistance and supervision of student staff. Opens and closes the University Store, as necessary. Assists with University Store accounting clerical duties, as necessary/seasonal. Provides clerical support to invoice billing processes and file clean-up duties. Assists with sales floor maintenance, including display set up and re-stocking. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of retail experience required.
Proper cash handling experience.
Special event operation and coordination experience.
Project Management experience.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary and Benefits
