The Office of the Vice President for Student Life Administration and Planning is seeking a Staff Assistant, a highly visible staff member who will serve as a primary liaison with all parts of the university and a wide range of individuals throughout the units for Finance, Human Resources and provide professional support to the office and its administrative functions.
In this position you will be expected to exhibit strong organizational, communication and time management skills; attention to detail; the ability to work independently and to prioritize workload; an informed awareness of the university and, in particular, Student Life, and a high level of commitment to customer service. The individual must be skilled and experienced in dealing with sensitive and highly confidential information.
Specifically you will be responsible for:
Finance including budget preparation, account monitoring, expenditure processing and analysis and reporting
Human Resources including coordination of permanent appointment process, HR transactions, providing guidance to supervisors on position development and hiring procedures, serve as hiring manager for units
Professional administrative support including project management support, manage relations with key university high level stakeholders, provide high level professional administrative support to Director and Administration and Planning staff
The incumbent interacts with all offices and departments of the university and a wide range of audiences including directors and their support staffs. The incumbent must have a proactive nature and must have the ability to work independently in meeting office objectives under the general direction of the Director, Administration and Planning.

Bachelor's degree. Competency in budget management, human resources and procurement and Microsoft office suite. Other requirements include strong attention to detail, organizational skills, demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
