Essential Job Duties:
The successful candidate will manage all audiovisual equipment and systems plus provide general desktop technical support at the Friday Institute. This will include, but is not limited to:
-Provides timely first-level desktop support across the FI. Escalates issues to the IT Support specialist as needed. -Coordinates with the FI Events Team to determine AV and IT needs for events -Set up and operate audiovisual equipment in conjunction with meetings, events, conference, audio or video recording sessions, conference calls, and photo shoots. -Provides just-in-time AV and IT support for major events. -Conduct a daily walk-throughs to ensure all equipment is set up for the day, and that all inactive equipment is shut down for the evening. -Provide routine maintenance for all AV and IT equipment for operation, including projectors and displays, video and audio conferencing units, microphones, video cameras, still cameras, printers, digital signage systems. -Conduct minor repairs of equipment such as changing bulbs in projectors, batteries in microphones, and replacing faulty or damaged cables. -Responsible for maintenance of AV and IT equipment in all event spaces and conference rooms, including testing and minor repairs, cable management, and ensuring usability. -Develop clear, non-technical instructions for basic use of AV and IT equipment and conduct trainings for FI staff as needed. -Recommends purchases for equipment updates, maintenance, and repair as needed. -Support the maintenance of an accurate and current inventory system. -Prints posters for FI staff as needed. -Assists in setup of workstations for new users and new desktop computers for existing users as needed..
- Daily walk through of facilities each morning to ensure equipment is set up for the day.
- Assist Events Manager as needed.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Customer service mindset, and experience working with people from multiple backgrounds and perspectives.
- Experience with setup and basic operation of video cameras, wireless projection systems, and sound systems
- Technical support experience with Mac OS and Windows 10 operating systems
- Technical support experience with iOS
- Experience troubleshooting both hardware and software issues
- Experience with Lenovo, Dell, and Apple Hardware
- Familiarity with Google Suite
- Experience supporting printers in a large network environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of IT and AV experience
- Knowledge of basic administration and operation of Crestron display control systems and panels
- Working knowledge of Active Directory Group Policies
- Working knowledge of JAMF mobile device management solution
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Experience with Photoshop and PowerPoint
