Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Construction Services as a member of the project planning, design and construction team within, Campus Planning and Operations at Facilities Management and Planning. This position plays a critical role in the direct oversight of project management and oversight of major capital projects and renovations greater than $20mil on both the Charles River and Medical Campuses. Projects include large and complex new construction and renovation projects as well as major utility infrastructure and deferred maintenance projects. Work in partnership with the AVP and others on overall policies and processes concerning construction project life cycle management toward successful delivery of scope, budget and schedule. Active role in the strategy development on current best practices for procurement of large scale construction management (CM) service resources in the Boston market to assure a high level of predictability on the outcomes of all projects. This position, under the oversight of the AVP, is responsible for providing management direction in the areas of: 1. Construction Project Management and Oversight throughout the project life cycle 2. Oversight of one Assistant Project Manger (APM) 3. Consultant on CM and Subcontractor selection and oversight 4. Coordination with other units to assure integrated delivery of facilities services 6. All other functions as assigned by AVP
Bachelors degree required in engineering, construction management, architecture or accounting/finance. Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred, 6-10 years of experience in either the design or construction industry.Knowledge and experience of best practices in project management/execution/delivery, MEP design and construction, financial, cost and managerial controls required on large projects.
