At Bronson we strive to prepare pharmacist resident clinicians for inpatient practice in entry level direct patient care positions within hospital settings, including larger tertiary care centers; for adjunct faculty positions; or to pursue post-graduate year two (PGY2) residency training. Residents complete various required and elective rotations throughout the year to meet predetermined goals and objectives as well as their personal and professional goals. Residents are also exposed to an assortment of teaching opportunities as well as to a variety of presentation and project management activities. Residents experience pharmacy practice in a wide variety of practice areas, including acute care, critical care, cardiology, administration, and other specialty areas.
We are seeking candidates with good communication skills and a good work ethic that are interested in practicing in medium- to large-sized community hospitals. Candidates are expected to be familiar with and conform to the ASHP Accreditation Standards for Pharmacy Residencies, including the Pharmacy Specific Duty Hour Requirements. As part of the residency, residents staff 360 hours per year, with staffing options that are site-specific. Please see each program’s individual residency description for more information about required and elective rotations. Our application process is through PhORCAS and requires a letter of intent, a CV, three letters of recommendation, and official college transcripts. Candidates should be registered as a pharmacist in the state of Michigan at the time of starting the program, or have a Michigan pharmacist intern license in the interim period between obtaining a pharmacist license and graduating from pharmacy school.
