FOX, a rapidly growing company in Northeast Atlanta, GA (30517) has an exciting opportunity for Product Development Process Engineer
The Product Development Process Engineer assures the quality of critical to customer/product work products and processes during the development phases of product development.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ensure the quality of critical to customer/product work products and processes during the development phases of product development by identification of risks to the customer and implementation of countermeasures to meet deliverable requirements at customer required quality level
Determines/describes project quality strategy for product development in conjunction with Project
Management of PLM objectives
Supports analysis of quality related customer specific requirements during all project phases (e.g. RFQ till SOP) in conjunction with Product Design and Quality Engineers.
Writes and maintains Quality Assurance Plan for product development (System, Hardware, Software, Mechanic) including activities, responsibilities, and escalation strategy.
Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process and quality systems.
Supports the project in selecting an adequate level of processes, Standards and procedures (Tailoring) in line with internal PLM requirements and customer requirements.
Assess quality of development work product that is critical to customer satisfaction.
Perform Risk Analysis along with the Product Development Team and Quality& Process Engineers (Production) to identify and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
Ensure accurate communication of risk and countermeasure status for management.
Reports regularly the risk reduction activities and results to the project team and
management to provide:
Risk assessment of the quality of the product and risk to internal & external customers
Transparency of process and product quality from internal and external customer point of view
Recommendations for continual improvement to the PLM process
Assure quality of release procedure and baselines (System, Hardware, Mechanic, Software). Risk is a good input
Review warranty data with operations warranty group to ensure design & supplier related warranty issues lessons learned are incorporated in new product development
Participates in project team meetings including in FMEA Meetings (e.g. System, Design, Process).
Assists engineering team in completing phase and gate review checklists for a project.
Participates in Design Reviews, Phase Reviews and Gate Reviews.
Establish Communication and exchange of information with Quality Engineer(Production) and SQD.
Assists in the development of Operations Safe Launch Plan development and execution.
Bachelor or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, - Ride Control/Chassis or equivalent subjects.
3-5 years’ experience in Automotive Industry Product Design (Ride Control preferred)
Experience with Automotive APQP process
Advanced skills in FMEA.
Advanced skills in Quality Methods (AIAG Core Tools)
Demonstrated experience in problem management
Advanced skills in performing Product Design Reviews
Experience with Product Validation Process (DVP&R)
Basic in ISO IATF 16949 Standard.
Advanced skills in Quality Methods (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa, etc.)
Basic in Requirements and Configuration Management.
Basic in problem management.
Basic skills in project management.
Excellent knowledge in effective quality standards within the automotive industry
Knowledge of implementing and maintaining QM systems and its auditing/assessment internal and external dealing suppliers and customers
Experience presentation and moderation techniques
Advanced knowledge in performing quality assurance activities during embedded development.
Ride Control/ Chassis experience
