St. Elizabeth Healthcare offers a PGY2 residency program in Health-System Pharmacy Administration (HSPA) based at community hospitals in the Northern Kentucky area, just across the river from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. St. Elizabeth's PGY2 HSPA program offers a diverse selection of leadership, administrative, finance, drug policy, informatic rotations. The experiences are designed to allow the resident to build upon experience from their PGY1 year as well as gain new experience in a variety of areas within health-system pharmacy administration. Throughout the residency, the resident will gain knowledge and understanding of regulations, finance, personnel management and leadership practices. The resident will develop project management skills through a quality improvement project and cost management project. The resident will also have opportunity to collaborate on multidisciplinary committees.
Residents will participate in system-wide administrative responsibilities but be based primarily at our Edgewood campus. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is the first and only healthcare system in Kentucky, Ohio or Indiana to pass Mayo Clinic's rigorous review process and become a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. St. Elizabeth also has a Level III NICU, a new cutting-edge Heart and Vascular Institute, Esther Marie Hatton Cancer Care Center and outpatient medical oncology infusion center. Must be graduates or candidates for graduation of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
Must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. (The state of Ohio is strongly encouraged as well).
