The Minneapolis College of Art and Design is seeking candidates for adjunct faculty positions in our new undergraduate Product Design major, beginning in the fall semester 2019.
Product Design is a new project-driven BFA major, positioned to connect to both the studio programs and Entrepreneurial Studies program.
Successful candidates will teach classes in core industrial design subject areas such as design sketching/rapid visualization; ideation and form development; building, testing, and evaluating models and prototypes; 3D modeling (Solidworks) and rendering; digitally-assisted fabrication; materials and manufacturing processes; visual and verbal presentation and communication skills. As the program grows, successful candidates may have the opportunity to tech upper-level courses. Ideal candidates will be working product/industrial designers who can bring their industry-specific experience and expertise to bear on their teaching. Accordingly, classes may be taught during the day or in the evening.

Significant industry experience and/or leadership in the field
Demonstrated subject matter expertise represented in a portfolio of professional industrial/product design work
Master’s degree preferred, or Bachelor’s in Industrial Design or related field
2 years teaching in higher education.
