Position is responsible for assisting with the management and administration of the department’s financial information, business affairs and operations while managing the operational accounting staff (staff of 4 to 5) and serving as a business partner to OFMD and auxiliary service teams, including revenue plan development, revenue plan management, performance reporting and contract management activities (commission management).�
This position will support all billing activities for department billable services, ensure proper operational accounting, assist with department budgeting/reporting and will work closely with all services areas on any areas below or over plan. Position will ensure all work orders are billed and all billable services are properly accounted for, documented, collected and closed out.
In addition, this position will manage the Dean’s rent, align with the department’s Planning Analyst on rent and building proformas as well as work closely with the WUSM department business managers on the Dean’s clinical space charge and proactively manage billing and lease data as part of the larger administration team.� This position will also lead, implement and maintain the initiative to develop annual rent profiles for the WUSM departments and provide them to the WUSM business managers in the fall of every year as part of the pre-budget process.
This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Business Operations with managing and facilitating the preparation of the annual operational and personnel budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts for all OFMD and the auxiliary service lines, leading monthly reporting and analysis of financial/operational results, leading and facilitating special projects as requested and serving as a member of department committees and leadership teams as assigned.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position also manages the administration and collection of Dean’s rent, clinical space chargebacks and other rent/leasing arrangements.� As a member of the larger lease administration team, this position will partner with the department’s Planning Analyst on development of rent and building proformas and with the WUSM department business managers to ensure the integrity of lease data administered in accordance with lease documents or contracts and the policies and procedures of the University and proactively manage the billing and collection of rents.
This position will also lead, implement and maintain the initiative to develop annual rent profiles for the WUSM departments and provide them to the WUSM business managers in the fall of every year as part of the pre-budget process beginning in FY 21.� The anticipated project timeline is one year to develop all data and begin planning this service; development of rent profiles beginning in FY 20; implementation and ongoing maintenance no later than FY 21.
Works with the Director of Business Operations to manage, plan and develop the annual operational and personnel budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts for all OFMD and the auxiliary service lines.� This position also leads the monthly reporting and analysis of financial/operational results and will partner with OFMD and auxiliary service leadership teams to monitor approved budgets by regularly preparing financial reports, reviewing financial results, investigating variances and taking corrective action as necessary.
This position will support lead special projects as assigned and support financial business analytics including return on investment and make/buy analytics for projects and services as applicable to the departments need and in support of the department’s Assistant Vice Chancellor.� Prepares special studies and analysis of current and proposed programs; assists with formulation of business plans for proposed new programs and special projects; manages programs under his/her supervision without direction and with strategic goals of the department.� This position also performs various financial reviews and assists the Director of Business Operations with operational analysis and establishing business plans.
Serves as a member of the OFMD Extended and Senior Leadership Team and participates in cross-service activities, committees, and special projects as assigned.
Prepares financial reports, impact statements, forecasts and budgets for management and funding agencies.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; facilities management business operations experience; 5 to 7 years of experience in the management/supervision of personnel in finance
CPA or MBA preferred
Ability to plan, organize, direct people, control resources, and think creatively; excellent oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of finance, accounting, computers, and human resources; ability to work effectively with a broad range of faculty, staff, students, and medical school administration
The hiring range for this position is $69,930 - $90,979 annually.
