Posting Summary: The Darden School Foundation, the 501(c)3 organization that supports the Business School, seeks a President, Executive Education and Lifelong Learning, Custom Solutions. The President will oversee the custom business development team, to include marketing of thought leadership, development and negotiation of proposals and ongoing relationship management for organizational clients. She or he will have full accountability for this revenue line.
This position focuses on critical parts of Darden's mission: extending the impact of Darden's faculty's thought leadership globally, providing lifelong learning opportunities for business and not-for-profit leaders that extend far beyond the degree, and creating accessible and affordable platforms and delivery for just-in-time learning. Further, this position will be the incubation laboratory for innovation and many digital transformation and partnership elements that have the promise to transform the Darden enterprise, and benefit the University. In this respect, it will function as a center of excellence for the Darden enterprise, and will be very entrepreneurial.
A desired profile could include a seasoned executive education leader at a top academic institution, a P&L leader of a successful business with a successful track record that required strategic planning, revenue generation, pipeline and sales management, brand deployment, fiscal responsibility and human capital strategies, a senior executive who has demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to relate to client needs for capability building and leadership development and understands technology enabled learning and leadership development, an experienced digital or technology enabled learning executive, a highly skilled professional services consultant with an appreciation for executive education, or a chief learning or HR officer at a company known for talent development.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Help build clients' capabilities by architecting and tailoring custom program design for senior executives, C-suite leaders and middle managers through collaboration with colleagues. - Conduct research and competitor and market analysis across industries and regions to identify attractive partnership opportunities, maintain extensive analysis of current market conditions. - Lead the team's efforts in securing of opportunities, specifically in diagnosing the leadership development and capability building requirements of public and private organizations. Engage directly as required to ensure superior relationship management. - Demonstrated results creating high performing teams through articulating clear goals and responsibilities and providing feedback to support individual accountability to establish a foundation of excellence. - Proven ability to set strategy to accomplish significant revenue growth. - Excellent communication skills with all levels - leadership, faculty, staff and business community. - Bachelor's degree from a high quality, accredited institution; an MBA, doctorate or other terminal degree strongly preferred.
