The Project Manager will be based at our Buffalo Grove, IL site. The facilities manager will manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. This individual will be ultimately responsible for the day-to-day execution, project controls, project engineering, cost, risk and business management of a series of large, inter-connected projects.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Develop an implementation plan, conduct risk assessments, and develop and implement contingency plans to allow for and accommodate unforeseen events and changes in strategy.
Identify resource requirements, cost and time schedules for all Projects.
Accountable for the successful completion of project tasks on time and within budget.
Accountable for managing resources (direct and matrix) assigned to project regarding project tasks.
Work scope requires complete understanding of cost estimating, budgeting and forecasting.
Interface with other disciplines, customers, internal clients, project staff and internal and external experts as required.
Synthesizes any underlying causes to make judgments; recognizes the impact and interconnections in the organization and/or system, develops and recommends alternatives that support project strategies.
Establishes project scope by creating charter, which includes “Done” for the project, assumptions, necessary conditions and preliminary project risks.
As information becomes available, updates project risks in charter and, as appropriate, includes this work in the project plan.
Works with cross-functional groups to ensure that buffers are managed appropriately and adjusts project plan when appropriate and reflects these changes in the timeline.
Creates contingency plans, reflects this work in the timeline, and acts on them to ensure project quality and delivery are achieved.
Perform the project management function for the execution of mid-size and large-size capital projects.
Projects may include, but not be limited to: Facilities Maintenance, Safety Projects, GMP and Non-GMP-type Projects, Office and Exterior Construction related projects.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field.
5 to 7 years of progressively responsible work experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration or related experience.
Demonstrate advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
Experienced in developing, writing, reviewing, and executing facility capital initiatives.
Decision making ability and leadership skills
Time management and organization skills
Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Prolog or similar), accounting cost management software (CMIC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
Travel required – 10% (Equipment Run-offs or other site visits)
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience/knowledge in plastic injection molding operations.
Experience in manufacturing equipment installations and start-up, particularly from a Facilities support stand-point.
Current engineer license, (PE).
Familiar with facility commissioning and FDA validation requirements.
Minimum 1 year experience in the manufacture of medical devices.
Experience with FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR) Part 820 of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations
